All Rose Of Sharon

Pruning:

  • Prune in late winter or early spring before buds form.
  • Remove dead, damaged, or diseased branches.
  • Eliminate crisscrossing branches or branches that are rubbing against each other.
  • Remove suckers from the bottom of the trunk.
  • Avoid pruning in late summer and fall.
  • For old Rose of Sharon, do rejuvenation pruning by cutting the plant back by two-thirds of the total size. May not bloom that year.
